A Family Place Library expands on the traditional role of children’s services by building on the knowledge that good health, early learning, parental involvement and supportive communities play a critical role in young children’s growth and development. Modeled on a national Family Place initiative, the project is (partially) funded with federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds administered by the Office of Commonwealth Libraries.
